Privacy policy

Last updated: 30 October 2026

Totally Tech (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates this website and online store, including all related information, content, features, tools, products and services (the “Services”). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose and protect your personal information when you visit or use the Services, make a purchase, or otherwise communicate with us. We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. If there is a conflict between our Terms of Service and this Privacy Policy, this Privacy Policy controls with respect to the collection, use and disclosure of your personal information.

Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By using the Services, you acknowledge that you have read it and understand how we collect, use and disclose your information as described here.

Personal information we collect

“Personal information” means information that identifies you, or could reasonably be used to identify you. Depending on how you use the Services, we may collect:

  • Contact details: your name, delivery address, phone number and email address.
  • Order details: the products you add to your cart and buy, delivery choices, order history, returns and exchanges.
  • Payment details: whether a payment succeeded, its amount and a reference to it. Card details are entered on our payment provider’s secure payment page; we never see or store your full card number.
  • Account details: if you create an account, your email address and sign-in details.
  • Messages: what you send us through our contact form or by email, such as a customer support request or a product enquiry.
  • Technical information: information your browser sends when you use the Services, such as your IP address, browser type and device, used to deliver the website, keep it secure and prevent abuse.

How we collect it

  • From you, when you place an order, create an account, fill in a form or contact us.
  • Automatically, when your browser loads the Services. We use only the cookies and browser storage needed to keep your cart and sign-in between visits; we do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
  • From our service providers, for example our payment provider confirming that a payment was made.

How we use it

  • To provide the Services: to process your order and payment, arrange delivery, handle returns and exchanges, manage your account and send you notices about your order or account.
  • To communicate with you: to answer your enquiries and provide customer support.
  • Security and fraud prevention: to protect the Services, our customers and us, including checking that contact form submissions come from people rather than automated programs, and detecting and preventing fraudulent payments.
  • Marketing: if you have agreed to receive them, to send you news and offers by email. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in our emails.
  • Legal reasons: to comply with the law, respond to lawful requests and enforce our terms and policies.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed to provide the Services, with:

  • Technology service providers that host and operate the Services for us, under obligations to keep your information secure and confidential.
  • Payment processing: Stripe, which processes card payments on its secure payment page and sends you a receipt. Stripe handles your payment details under its own privacy policy.
  • Delivery: Australia Post and the couriers that deliver your order, who receive the name, address and phone number needed to deliver it.
  • Spam protection: a service that checks that our contact form is used by a person.
  • Others, when required: our professional advisers; a buyer or successor of our business; and government agencies or others when the law requires it or to protect our rights, our customers or the public.

Overseas disclosure

Some of our service providers may process your information outside Australia to provide their services. We take reasonable steps to ensure they protect your information in a way that is consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles.

Third-party websites

The Services may link to websites run by others, including our payment provider’s payment page. Their own privacy policies apply there, and we are not responsible for their practices.

Children

The Services are not intended for children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has given us their personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Security and retention

We take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, including secure (HTTPS) connections. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. We keep personal information only as long as we need it to provide the Services, maintain our business records (including tax records, generally seven years) and meet our legal obligations, after which we delete or de-identify it.

Access, correction and your choices

You may ask us for access to the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate, out of date or incomplete. You may also ask us to delete it, subject to the records we must keep by law. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request, and we will respond within a reasonable time. You can opt out of marketing emails at any time.

Complaints

If you have a concern about how we have handled your personal information, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at www.oaic.gov.au.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to our practices or for legal or regulatory reasons. We will post the updated policy on this page and change the “Last updated” date above.
